Jr. Speech
Junior Speech is a class for children ages 6-12 who have an opportunity to learn public speaking in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. The goal is to help students grow in confidence, speaking in front of an audience in whatever situation God opens up for them.
At every meeting, students practice different types of speech exercises and topics. They also learn how to be a good listener and an attentive audience. The class is open to all levels. Students range from having no experience to those who have acted in church performances or plays. At least once a year, there is usually a Jr. Speech tournament offered to students who want to experience what it is like to compete.
Class is limited to 10 students per year. Priority is given to siblings of current Response students as we aim to help the juniors transition easily into the older group once they are eligible. Parent participation is required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lisa Fong at lisamgfong@gmail.com for more information.
