This camp is perfect for the student hoping to compete in speech and/or team policy debate. The camp days are split into two parts: morning (10am-12:30pm) for debate and afternoon (1:30-4:00pm) for speech. Students are welcome to join just debate, just speech, or both!

The first 3 days are dedicated to novices and will cover the basics of speech and debate. Time will also be given to discussing the team policy competitive format and the Stoa rules. By the end of the course, students will be ready to compete in Stoa for the 2021-2022 season. Non-competitive students welcome, too!

The last 4 days are designed to prepare students for the 2021 competitive year. On the speech side, class time will be split between lectures and student activities to familiarize students with various speech types. On the debate side, a combination of lectures and small group sessions will familiarize students with the resolution and building effective affirmative and negative cases.
