INTRO TO PUBLIC
SPEAKING CLASS

This class is designed for students new to public speaking. The course will cover the three main categories of speaking: impromptu, platform, and interpretive. Students will learn the strategies to confident delivery, giving speeches off-the-cuff, writing speeches, and even basic acting/interpretation. Students who complete this intro course will be ready to start competing in public speaking for the 2020-2021 competitive season. Non-competitive students are welcome, too!

 

2020 Speech Class:

Wednesdays, 1:00pm-3:00pm
June 17th - August 5th.

Class will meet online.

$200 for the first child, $150 for each additional child.

This course is perfect for the student who hopes to compete in team policy debate. The course will cover the basics of debate: how to create arguments and respond to them logically. Students will learn to recognize logical fallacies, research both sides of an issue, and participate in a few class debates. Time will also be given to discussing the team policy competitive format and the Stoa rules. By the end of the course, students will be ready to compete in Stoa for the 2020-2021 season. Non-competitive students welcome, too!
