INTRO TO PUBLIC
SPEAKING CLASS

This class is designed for students new to public speaking. The course will cover the three main categories of speaking: impromptu, platform, and interpretive. Students will learn the strategies to confident delivery, giving speeches off-the-cuff, writing speeches, and even basic acting/interpretation. Students who complete this intro course will be ready to start competing in public speaking for the 2019-2020 competitive season. Non-competitive students are welcome, too!

This course is perfect for the student who hopes to compete in team policy debate. In eight weeks, students will learn the basics of creating arguments, how competition works, how to respond to opposing arguments, note-taking speeches, and research. By the end of the course, students will be ready to compete in Stoa for the 2019-2020 season.
